What You're Buying vs What a Restaurant Sells
When you buy fish at our counter, you're buying raw fish by the kilo — to cook yourself at a villa, apartment, or rental. If you want cooked fish, you need a restaurant. Both have a place, but they're different things. Our prices are raw fish prices, not restaurant prices. A kilo of sea bream is 600–900 ALL. A restaurant portion of sea bream is 1500–2500 ALL and that's roughly 200–300g of fish. If you have a grill, buying from us and cooking it yourself is the better meal at a third of the price.
Will They Speak English?
Yes. English is spoken. Italian too. Pointing also works — the fish is right there in front of you. You can see, touch, and smell it before you decide.
Do Tourists Pay More?
No. The counter price is the counter price. Locals and tourists pay the same at Fish Shop Ardit. The fish is weighed on a scale in front of you and the price is calculated from that weight.

What You Should Buy as a First-Time Visitor
If you've never cooked Albanian fish before, start with sea bream (koç or orata). It's forgiving on the grill — difficult to overcook, beautiful skin when charred, mild flavour. Buy one per person, ask us to scale and gut it, grill whole with olive oil and salt. Finish with lemon. That's it.
